Our guiding principles: Cooperation, Communication, Mutual Respect and Trust.

Our mission statement: We are a welcoming community of parents who provide nurturing guidance and education in a play-based environment.

Our Philosophy: Children, parents, and teachers go to school together, each learning from the other!

Crystal Springs Cooperative Preschool serves families with toddlers to pre-K (ages 1 to 5 years). It is one of 8 preschool cooperatives affiliated with Shoreline Community College and one of hundreds throughout the state of Washington. Washington is one of the leaders nationally in providing funding for this type of early childhood/parent education programs. We serve families in Mill Creek, Bothell, Woodinville, Lynnwood and the surrounding communities.

CSPS Dino Dig

The philosophy of Crystal Springs encompasses the belief that every parent and child has unique skills, talents, and assets worthy of support and encouragement. We celebrate the individuality and uniqueness of each parent and child. Our curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices as outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Children and toddlers are exposed to a wide range of experiences and activities that allow them to create and explore in a self-directed way with the guidance of the teacher and parents. Discipline is viewed as a teaching and learning experience. Positive methods are used to help children learn how to get along with each other in small and large groups. Parents are given opportunities to gain support and confidence through sharing mutual concerns and child-rearing strategies.

CSPS Parents

We are run by the parents through a board of officers. Parents pay a monthly tuition, and participate in the running of the school by bringing snacks, cleaning the facility, serving on a committee and supporting fundraising efforts.

Parents are enrolled at Shoreline Community College and earn credits in Parent Education. They have the opportunity to participate in class discussions and monthly parent education seminars.

We want this to be a successful and rewarding and FUN experience for both parent and child. As the well-known child psychologist Piaget said, "When learning stops being fun, learning stops."
