Welcome to Crystal Springs Cooperative! I joined the preschool in 2007 and have been enjoying every day since. If you are looking for a place where family and community come together in the best interests of young children, you've found it! Crystal Springs connects you with diverse, yet like-minded parents, who understand the joys and trials of parenthood. We get through it together with lots of humor, love and support.

I was born and raised in the Seattle area and attended a cooperative preschool myself, of which I have very fond memories. I never would have thought it would come full circle! Besides my love of teaching, I adore traveling and have been fortunate to live, work, study and travel through 29 countries! Of course, it was time to put the suitcases away not long after my son was born and our family repatriated to the Seattle area to be near grandma and grandpa. A little educational background: I completed my B.A. from Western Washington University in Communications with minors in Psychology and Intercultural Studies. I received my post-graduate Teaching Certification one year later, also from WWU. I received my M.S. degree in Education from the State University of New York.

My teaching career began in China. Our family spent 5 years in Shanghai where I taught for one year at Shanghai University and the subsequent years were spent working in Early Childhood at an amazing international school, serving children pre-k through grade 12 from all around the world. My Australian husband and I began dating in Shanghai, were married shortly after and have one Australian-American, Chinese born (smile) son, Tate who is also a "Co-op Kid."

I believe whole-heartedly in Cooperative Schooling. Nothing lends itself to a stronger sense of community than parents and children involved in co-op. We provide a place for a children to discover and explore the wonders of their world in a safe, play-based environment where they can learn to trust other parents, developing socially and emotionally at their own pace. We provide parental support through on-going mentoring in the classroom and bi-monthly Parent Education sessions where we share our parenting stories, give and seek advice, and get the latest research and proven theory. We also provide monthly speakers on a variety of developmental and contemporary issues. I hope you will join us! If you have questions, please e-mail.

Playfully yours,

Kelly Rosser
